Blog Post 10
I just started reading Compound. It's not that great so far, but it should get better because I heard a lot of people like it and I can sort of tell that something epic is about to happen. so far, its abotu this kid who's dad is a billionare. Apparently they are in a war. A nuclear weapon has been deployed. He escaped into a shelter his dad had been building him. Unfotunetly, he forgets his grandma and his brother. I can't believe hoe bad that must have been. I need to read on.

Blog Post #9
I started reading A collection of Horror Stories by Anthony Horowitz. I only got to read two stories so far, but I must say, I am intrigued. My favorite story so far is called the night bus. It's basically about two kids who are at a Halloween party. They miss their ride home so they decide to take the bus. After A while on the bus, they realize it's a bus that takes dead people to their cemeteries. I thought it was interesting because he didn't give away that it was a bus of dead people for a while. He used creative things like a man and a woman who were soaking wet (they died from drowning in the Titanic.) There was a motorcyclist and he had a huge gash in his head. It was funny because the conducter who took their tickets (he was very nice) asked them how they came (he meant ho they died, but they didn't know that.) They got a ride from their parents to go to the party so they said "Our dad's car." The conducter commented that it was awful how such young kids go. When I read this I LQTM'd (LQTM= Laughing Quietly To Myself.)

So I know were not supposed to comment on our in class books, but I just have to say that Silver Fin is actually quite interesting and I strongly recommend it. I read a book called Tales of mystery and Horror. It is basically a collection of horror stories by Edgar Allen Poe. It is very creepy and I like his dark writing style (I'm not a creepy dark person I just find it entertaining.) He has a very old fashioned kind of writing voice which makes it hard to understand sometimes. He uses strange words that I can't really think of right now, but I think you catch my drift. My favorite story is tell-tale heart. It's about two men. Edgar Allen Poe writes from a young man's perspective. He is freaked out by an old man's eye. The story basically describes how he murders the old man and cleans up perfectly. Then the police come. They can't find any evidence so they just have a nice conversation. The he hears the man's heart beating. It gets so loud that he freaks out and admits to murder. I thought that it was interesting because it was kind of weird how the old man's eye creeped him out. I also thought it was interesting because the story picks up pace as you go along. At first it's kind of boring, but it gets creepier almost like the increasing noise of the man's heart. If you are going to read it, I recommend you read it before you go to seep. It's interesting to see how it messes with your dreams.
